The Ministry of Economic Development is the National Competent Authority in charge to implement the Regulation (EU) 2017/821 of the European Parliament and of the Council session of 17 May 2017 laying down the obligation of Due Diligence for the EU importers of minerals and metals (tin, tantalium tungsten, and gold) originating from conflict or high-risk areas.

The Italian Competent Authority (ANC3TG) Web Site - https://anc3tg.mise.gov.it/ - is now online to :
- inform the importers subject to the Regulation about their rights, duties and responsibilities;
- instruct and diffuse tools to implement the recommended measures;
- support the adoption of the expected Due Diligence (DD) in order to protect the Company’s everyday business all along the supply chain.

Protecting human rights alongside corporate interests will promote a virtuous process facilitating the development of at-risk countries with which corporations operate.

To help companies conforming to the expected standards, the National Competent Authorities of the EU Member States will start implementing ex-post checks on the Due Diligence application starting from 1st January 2022.
