Review of the functioning and effectiveness of Regulation (EU) 2017/821(Conflict Minerals Regulation) pursuant to Article 17 (2) of Regulation (EU) 2017/821
The European Commission has adopted the first review of the functioning and effectiveness of the Conflict Minerals Regulation. It is available in the 24 EU official languages.
The purpose of the Report is to present the findings of the European Commission (hereafter the Commission) on the first review of the functioning and effectiveness of Regulation (EU) 2017/821 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2017 laying down supply chain due diligence obligations for Union importers of tin, tantalum and tungsten, their ores, and gold originating from conflict-affected and high-risk areas.
According to Article 17 (2), the Commission shall review the functioning and effectiveness of the Regulation by 2023 and every three years thereafter.
The review was supported by an external study, and by inputs and consultations with a broad range of stakeholders.
